Peter Glennon joined RochesterFirst (WROC) to celebrate Maureen McGuire’s retirement from News 8 and discuss her contribution to Honor Flight. Attorney Glennon is the chairman of Honor Flight, and McGuire frequently emceed welcome home ceremonies at the airport. She also served as the face of Honor Flight’s The Ultimate Brasstacular event and was especially touched when she served as a chaperon for a veteran.
As Attorney Glennon explains:
“When people think of Honor Flight I think they’re also thinking Maureen McGuire who’s out and about helping us…When you talk about Maureen McGuire you’re talking about an all-American gal, local from Rochester, she’s the manifestation of this community…She loves veterans, she loves freedom, family, community and she’s all in and she’s very genuine about it. She’s very charming, disarming, she’s welcoming to everybody.”
Although she’s retiring from News 8 after 23 years, McGuire is set to emcee Honor Flight’s 70th mission next month.Read the whole article on Rochesterfirst.com
